1. Ahwatukee Recreation Center

The ARC offers many amenities for its members such as pickleball courts, lawn bowling, a large beautiful outdoor pool, therapeutic indoor pool and spa, aerobics studio where a great variety of classes are held from Boot Camp to Yoga, cardio equipment, free weights, and assisted weight machines.  Our members get together each week to play cards, Mahjong, Bunco, Bocce, billiards, table tennis, and have jam sessions with their instruments. There are many travel and fun events available to our members as well.

Membership in the ARC Pickleball Club offers free lessons and clinics, tournaments, social events, and the fun of playing the next drop-in game with friends. If you’re a resident of the ARC and you’re interested in pickleball, inquire about club membership at the ARC reception desk, come to an introductory lesson, or just drop by the courts any morning or evening.

2. Encanto Sports Complex

The Encanto Park Sports Complex consists of the following areas: 8 tennis courts, 3 youth / pickleball courts, 8 four-wall handball/racquetball courts (one is lined for squash), 4 volleyball courts, 2 sand volleyball courts, 4 full basketball courts, 1 equipment room, 1 office building with 2 restrooms attached, and 1 ballfield. All areas are lighted for evening play. Light controls are located in the Sports Complex Office.

3. Washington Activity Center

The Washington Activity Center, built in 1969, is a multi-generational facility with a full-size gymnasium, seven activity rooms and an auditorium. The centre offers a wide variety of activities and services to the public at a minimal cost, including programs for toddlers, youth, teenagers, adults and seniors. The centre sits adjacent to Washington Park, which boasts open green space and traditional park amenities (basketball and volleyball court, softball and soccer fields.

4. Pecos Community Center

The Pecos Community Center, located in the city park of the same name,  boasts more than 38,000 square feet of space and a wide range of sports and general interest classes and programs.  Pecos Park is a large regional park that features a skate park, swimming pool, dog park and several athletic fields. Pecos Community Center has a full-size gymnasium with open basketball and volleyball, and a fitness room with aerobic, weights and resistance machines (memberships are $50 for one year, $30 for six months or $3 per day); a dance room, game room with air hockey, pool table, foosball and large-screen television, classrooms and multi-purpose rooms, available for rent. The center also houses a Phoenix Police Department substation.
